THE ASSOCIATION OF FREE LUTHERAN CONGREGATIONS BELIEVES:
- The Bible is the inerrant Word of God and the final authority in all areas of life.
- The main task of the Christian Church is not social action but the preaching and teaching of the Word of God so
that Christians grow spiritually and souls come to faith in Christ. The preaching of the Word is to be the focus of the worship service.
- Personal faith results in a life lived for Christ.
A Christian is lovingly different, and is as salt and leaven in society.
- According to the Word of God, there is no authority over the Christian congregation but the Word and Spirit of
God.
- Christian unity is not achieved by human organization, but through love that transcends man-made structures.
(John 17:22)
The Association of Free Lutheran Congregations has a Bible School and Theological Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota
and reaches out through home and foreign missions. The AFLC publishes its own Lutheran, Word-centered Sunday School and confirmation materials.
