Hosting Solutions for AFLC Congregations

This website is intended to provide a hosting option for those congregations who have minimal/moderate needs for space and bandwidth and who intend to create and maintain their own web pages. A suggested donation for a year of hosting is $25.00. Your church will be given a folder which will hold all your files such as: www.aflcchurches.org/south_central/laurel_ne.

If you wish to purchase a domain name such as www.ortleyfreelutheran.org you can do so through any number of domain name providers such Network Solutions. You would pay them a yearly fee just to reserve that name and then we would apply that name to your web folder on our site so that your visitors would only have to type in the shorter or more obvious web address.

There are a lot of tools at minimal cost or even free for creating and maintaining web pages. Before you take the plunge, you would do well to speak to other congregations who have a web presence to see what has worked for them. Remember that a web site that is not attractive or one that is dated (no content new than 3 months old) will send a message that your church is not serious about the web.
